Militarization in Jaffna

Hundreds of Sri Lankan Army's notorious motorcycle unit, along with STF have been deployed to Jaffna town to "Keep people in order according to COVID-19 restrictions." Even though this is a police's task under the guise of "COVID-19" the heavy militarization continues across Tamils homeland. Yet in the south, the infected numbers are reaching the peak, only police has been deployed. These armed soldiers with assault rifles, helmets and black masks are intimidating Eelam Tamilians. We've noticed that some armed soldiers are taking videos and photos of the people who are waiting at signals.
